Before joining AIA, Ivy collaborated with a number of architecture-based publishing groups in various roles. He collaborated with McGraw-Hill Construction as its Editorial Director and Vice President and took care of its editorial quality.

Ivy was also part of Architectural Record, an architectural publishing group, as its Editor in Chief since 1996. His commitment and contribution to the industry helped Ivy to get numerous accolades including Crane Award in 2009, Master Architect 2010 by Alpha Rho Chi, the American Business Media Award, and more.
